Delete your DiasporaLink account

Delete in the app (fastest)

1. Open DiasporaLink and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone section.
3. Tap Delete Account and enter your password to confirm your identity.
4. Check the acknowledgment box, tap Delete My Account, and confirm the final warning.

Deletion starts immediately once you confirm.

Can't access the app? Email us with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address registered to your account in the body. We verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, username, photo, bio, location, contact details)
• Your posts, listings, jobs, rides and events
• Your messages and chat participation
• Your photos, videos and other uploaded media
• Your followers/following relationships and community memberships
• Your saved items, applications and preferences

On confirmation your account is deactivated immediately — your profile is hidden and sign-in is disabled. All data is permanently deleted from our active databases within 24 hours, and removed from backup systems within 90 days (unless retention is required by law).

What we may keep, and why

• Messages you sent to others — the recipients' copies of conversations are not affected by your deletion
• Marketplace transaction records (order records, payment transaction IDs and related financial records) — retained for up to 7 years for tax compliance and fraud prevention; payment data held by Stripe is subject to Stripe's own retention policy
• Records of safety reports or legal requests involving the account, where the law requires us to retain them

Anything retained is kept only as long as the law requires and is not used for any other purpose.
